Dharmendra Terahvin: After the demise of Bollywood star Dharmendra, his fans are showing their love towards him in their own way. A unique tribute was paid to Dharmendra in a village in Mathura on Saturday. On Dharmendra’s thirteenth birthday, a havan and peace prayer was organized in his memory in Mathura. After this, the people of Mathura also organized a meal on the thirteenth day, in which more than 10 thousand people participated.
Sholay screening in thirteenth
In Mathura, local people organized a ceremonial ‘Terhavi’, in which around 10,000 people gathered. This thirteenth banquet took place in Selkheda village of Baldev area, where fans performed traditional ‘Hawan’, ‘Shantipath’ and later organized ‘Brahmbhoj’ in the actor’s honour. As a tribute, a screening of his famous film ‘Sholay’ was also organized. Everyone’s eyes were moist after watching the film.
‘Dharmendra was a member of the family’
Organizer and his fans Gopal Singh Pehalwan and Lakhan Singh said that the entire village considered the actor as “a member of their family”. He said, “We are all deeply saddened by his death. To show our respect and love, we decided to perform the rituals of ‘Terhavi’.” He told that not only the people of Selkheda but also the people of about a dozen nearby villages were invited, due to which more than 10,000 people came. The organizer said, “The havan, prayer and feast were conducted with full traditional customs.”
Hema Malini is MP from Mathura
Dharmendra died on 24 November after a long illness. His wife, actor-turned-politician Hema Malini, is the current MP from Mathura, who has been elected for the third time in 2024. Dharmendra had also come to Mathura during his last election campaign. His demise has come as a deep shock to the family, industry and his fans. His departure is like the end of a golden chapter in the film world. His fans are not only in India but also in foreign countries.
