On this occasion, Shah said that the Sagar Organic Plant with a daily capacity of about 30 metric tons is certified by the National Program for Organic Production (NPOP) and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). Due to APEDA certification, farmers engaged in natural farming in North Gujarat will benefit greatly as their produce will be able to reach global markets. The Union Cooperation Minister said that the expansion of this organic plant will not only improve the health of citizens across the country, but will also increase the income of farmers associated with organic farming. He urged all the farmers engaged in organic farming and their families to use organic products to stay healthy. Shah said that in 1960, Dudhsagar Dairy used to collect 3,300 liters of milk per day, which has now increased to 35 lakh liters per day. This dairy is associated with cattle farmers of 1,250 villages of Gujarat and more than 10 lakh milk production groups of Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

Gujarat government is with the farmers

He said that its turnover has reached Rs 8,000 crore. With eight modern dairies, two milk cooling centres, two animal feed plants and a cement production unit, Dudhsagar Dairy today plays a major role in Gujarat’s white revolution. Shah said several initiatives have been taken to promote the circular economy of dairy, including the formation of 75,000 new primary dairy cooperative societies across the country. Shah said that the Modi government will ensure that 50 percent of the milk produced by cooperative societies reaches the national and international markets, thereby benefiting the cattle farmers. To ensure that the benefits of the circular economy reach cattle farmers, the Modi government has set up three multi-state cooperative societies. He also said that 70 percent of Amul’s total business comes from the contribution of women. This year there was unseasonal heavy rainfall in Gujarat. To help the affected farmers, the Bhupendra Patel government has announced a very generous relief package. The Gujarat government has resolved that it will not step back from helping the farmers.
