27 crore narcotics recovered from Indira Gandhi Airport Delhi, two women smugglers arrested

Two Thai women have been arrested from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport Delhi here for smuggling drugs worth Rs 27 crore in the country.

New Delhi: Two Thai women have been arrested from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport Delhi here for smuggling drugs worth Rs 27 crore in the country. Customs officials said that the accused were caught after reaching here from Phuket in Thailand.

The Customs Department said in a post on X that on a detailed investigation, the authorities found 54 packets of green drug weighing 27.08 kg hidden in four trolley bags, which suspected to be marijuana. Customs officials said the suspicion was confirmed by the tests. The value of the seized substance is about Rs 27.09 crore. Officials said that both foreign women have been arrested and the banned substance has been confiscated.
