In this case, the police is interrogating an employee in custody. The 330 digital tablets who came to distribute among the students by the Uttar Pradesh government have disappeared from a strong room in Deoria Sadar Tehsil. The role of an employee in this case is said to be suspicious. As soon as the information was received, there was a stir in the district administration.
Revenue department employee in custody
Officials said that the police had detained Rakesh Srivastava, an employee of the revenue department responsible for the maintenance of the tablet, after registering a case against him. In this case, Tehsildar Krishna Kumar Mishra lodged a complaint at the Kotwali police station in Deoria. Joint Magistrate Shruti Sharma said that the tablets who came to distribute among the college students were kept in the strong room in Sadar Tehsil.
Open case on matching stock
He said that 330 tablets were found missing on matching the stock on Friday. Sharma said that in the investigation of Naib Tehsildar Shivendra Kaundilya, the negligence of Srivastava posted as the patron of the stock has come to light. In a statement to Kaundilya, Srivastava has claimed that on the night of 19 May, someone entered the strong room. The next day when he found a new lock on the door, he broke it and put a new lock, but did not inform the high officials about the incident.

According to the investigation, the tablet was kept in the room besides the strong room without the knowledge of the officials. Sharma said that Srivastava is accused of cheating and embezzling 330 tablets without informing a competent officer.
