Officials said that Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Bageshwar are included in the districts affected by the natural disaster. Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) said here that about half a dozen houses were damaged due to heavy rains in Pasari Gram Panchayat of Kapkot area of ​​Bageshwar district, in which two people died and three others are missing. So far two bodies have been recovered in the incident while three other people are missing. Chief Development Officer Abhishek Tripathi said that a house and a cowshed was buried in a landslide debris in Mopata village of Chamoli district, in which a couple died and another was injured.

SDRF landed in rescue

USDMA said that in Taljaman village of Rudraprayag district, 30-40 families are also reported to be trapped in debris and flood waters. SDRF teams have been deployed from August Muni, Ratuda and Sonprayag. 40 people have been rescued from Taljaman village and 30 people from Kumad village. A search operation is going on in Chhenagad Dungar village for missing people. 2 bodies were recovered and one injured in Bageshwar, while a woman is missing in Rudraprayag. Two people have died in Chamoli.

Instructions to speed up relief and rescue operations

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said in a post on X that some families have received the sad news of some families being trapped due to a cloudburst in Barath Dungar under Tehsil Basukedar area of ​​Rudraprayag district and Dewal area of ​​Chamoli district. Dhami spoke to the concerned District Magistrates through video conferencing and asked him to run relief and rescue operations fast in the affected areas. Due to continuous rains and cloudburst, the old Kedar area of ​​Tehri district has also suffered heavy damage, where sheds and temples made for animals were buried in debris. Balaganga, Dharmaganga and Bhilangana rivers are in spate due to continuous rains, which has caused panic among the local people.

Meteorological Department released red alert

Former village head of Genwali, Kirti Singh Rana said that potato fields have also been buried in the debris. The police is alerting people living on the banks of the river by making them profitable. Badrinath National Highway was blocked due to debris in many places in Chamoli-Nandprayag, Kameda, Bhaneerpani, Pagnala, Jillsu, Gulabkoti and Chatwapipal. The Badrinath National Highway in Rudraprayag district is also closed in Sirobgad, while the Kedarnath highway is blocked at four different places between Banswara (Syalsaur) and Kund to Chopta. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Bageshwar, Chamoli, Dehradun and Rudraprayag districts of Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours.
