Bihar News: A tragic accident took place late Friday night in Motipur police station area of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Five people of the same family were burnt to death in a fire in Ward No. 13 of Motipur Bazaar, while four people got seriously burnt. Five members of a family died in a house fire in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, while four were seriously burnt. The dead include Lalan Shah, his mother, wife and two children. Four injured have been admitted to the nearby government hospital. Deputy Superintendent of Police Suchitra Kumari said that the accident took place around midnight in ward number 13 of Motipur area. The fire, caused by a short circuit, engulfed the third floor of the building when everyone was sleeping.

He said that fire tenders reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Five people died on the spot and four were seriously burnt. Initially, the local people reached the spot after seeing the rising flames and hearing loud screams. People informed the fire control room and local police about the incident. He said that the reasons for the accident are being investigated. Deputy Superintendent of Police Suchitra Kumari said that the injured have been admitted to Shri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH) for treatment, where the condition of one is said to be very critical. The incident happened at night when everyone was in deep sleep. Due to the sudden fire, the people present in the house did not get a chance to come out.

The flames were so terrible that local people rushed to help, but it became very difficult to control the fire. The entire locality is immersed in terror and grief after the incident. A total of five people including husband and wife and two innocent children died in the fire. Those who got burnt include Lalbabu Prasad Kumar (55), Sakshi Kumari (14), Pushpa Kumari (48) and Mala Devi (42). Everyone is being treated in the burn ward of the medical college. Police and administration officials reached the spot after receiving information and started relief and investigation. SDPO West Two Suchitra Kumari said that the death of five people has been confirmed in the fire, while four people have sustained serious burn injuries. In the preliminary investigation, electrical short circuit is being considered as the possible cause of the accident. Detailed investigation of the case is going on.
