Rumor caused a stampede

Every year lakhs of devotees reach the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar during the month of Shravan. In Hinduism, during the month of Shravan, devotees often continue to thrive, but due to Sunday, a large crowd of devotees gathered in the temple. During this crowd, the rumor spread that there is a current on the route of the temple, after which there was a sudden stampede. According to eyewitnesses, due to narrow streets and climbing, the crowd could not be controlled and this accident occurred due to people falling on each other.

He further said, “We were reported to be injured by some people, after which the police immediately took action. About 35 people were brought to the hospital and 6 have been confirmed the death. The rest is undergoing treatment… prima facie, a stampede caused a stampede due to rumor of electric shock on the stairs 100 meters below the temple route. We are investigating further…”

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep condolences on the accident. He wrote on social media, “A very sad news has been received about a stampede on the way to Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar.
