Cloud Burst in Kathua: Chief Minister Abdullah Has expressed grief over the death and damage caused by landslides in many parts of Kathua. CM has expressed grief to the families of the victims.
Cloud burst in Kathua: In Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, rain caused heavy havoc. Seven people lost their lives due to cloudburst and landslides in the early hours of Sunday, while five were seriously injured. The district received heavy rain overnight. Due to which this disaster came in Jodh Valley village of Rajbagh and Jungleot, District Development Commissioner Rajesh Sharma along with senior citizens and police officers has reached the spot to monitor the rescue and relief operations. Officials said that five people lost their lives in the Jodh Valley affected by cloudburst, which disrupted the village and damaged some houses, while two people lost their lives in the landslide due to rain in Jungleot area. He said that five people were rushed to the hospital from Jodh Valley, where joint rescue operations are going on by police, state disaster response force (SDRF) and local volunteers.

Landslides in Bagdar, Changda and Dilwan-Hutli
Due to heavy rains, landslides also occurred in Kathua’s Bagdar, Changda village and Dilawan-Hutli of Lakhanpur police station area. People have been requested to stay away from water bodies for their safety. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed grief over the loss of life and property and directed the administration to take relief, rescue and withdrawal measures to ensure the safety of the people. The Chief Minister has expressed grief over the death and damage caused by landslides in many parts of Kathua. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that civil administration, army and paramilitary forces are conducting rescue and relief operations in Kathua.
Information about accident given to Amit Shah
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also expressed grief over the death due to rain in Kathua district on Sunday and said that Home Minister Amit Shah has been informed about rescue and relief work. He said on X that in many areas of Kathua, people have been deeply saddened by the death of people in the disastrous landslide due to rain. Sinha said in a post on X that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been informed about the rescue and relief operations being run by the Army, NDRF, SDRF, police and administration. The Lieutenant Governor said that I have instructed police officers to coordinate and implement rescue and assistance efforts in the affected areas and to ensure medical assistance on the spot.
