89 trains will run on the track

Passengers Relief:

Passengers Relief: Passengers are quite upset due to the cancellation of a large number of flights by the airline company Indigo. To overcome this, Railways on Saturday announced to run 89 special trains in all zones. The Railway Ministry has made arrangements for a total of 100 trips of these trains in the shortest possible time. For this, the number of passengers in main cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Patna and Howrah was analyzed. Dilip Kumar, Executive Director, Information and Publicity Department, Railway Board, said that depending on the traffic situation, the number of special trains and their frequency can be further increased. All zones have been asked to operate these trains safely by utilizing all available resources like staff and coaches so that lakhs of passengers stranded due to cancellation of flights in different parts of the country can be transported to their destinations.

More trains as demand increases

Railway officials said efforts are being made to inform people about these trains and some divisions have also disseminated information at nearby airports to help passengers. South-Eastern Railway has asked the airport authority to provide information about newly started special trains. Railways said that Western Railways will operate seven special trains between Mumbai Central-New Delhi, Mumbai Central-Bhiwani, Mumbai Central-Shakurbasti, Bandra Terminus-Durgapura, Valsad-Bilaspur, Sabarmati-Delhi and Sabarmati-Delhi Sarai Rohilla station. Similarly, South Central Railways said on Saturday that it will run four special trains in view of the increasing number of passengers due to large-scale cancellation of Indigo flights. More trains will be run as demand increases.

Thousands of passengers are stranded everywhere

Officials said the special services will operate on high passenger load routes including Bengaluru-Chennai, Bengaluru-Pune, Yesvantpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin, Shalimar-Yelahanka and Ekulam-Yelahanka between December 6 and 10. Central Railway and Northern Railway have planned to operate 14 and 10 special trains. Officials said these numbers are being reviewed to meet the growing needs. Other zones have also issued notifications about special trains and their time tables. South-Central Railway said that it is running special trains on Saturday to reduce the rush of passengers from Hyderabad to Chennai, Mumbai and Shalimar (Kolkata). Indigo flight operations have been severely affected for at least five consecutive days. Due to large number of flights being canceled and delayed, thousands of passengers are facing problems and are stranded everywhere.
