WTTC Report: According to a report by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the international travel and tourism sector will create 9.1 crore new jobs in the next 10 years, which will be responsible for one of every three jobs created globally. A report called the ‘Future of Travel and Tourism Work Force’ focused on 20 economies states that if demographic and structural changes were ignored, it could lead to a lack of workforce of more than 4.3 crore people. The council works with governments on travel and tourism industry issues. Recently, the report released at the 25th WTTC Global Summit in Rome is based on extensive global research, including a large -scale survey of business houses, intensive interviews with tourism body members and other key stakeholders.
Lack of workers will affect the economy

Employment opportunities in tourism
In his main speech at the inauguration ceremony of the summit, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni highlighted his government’s investment in the tourism infrastructure and its belief that the region is an extraordinary generator of wealth and welfare. WTTC interim CEO Gloria Guevara said that the journey and tourism will remain one of the world’s largest employment creators, which will provide opportunities to millions of people worldwide. At the summit, the global leading Manfredi Lafebre was appointed as the new chairman of WTTC in the field of travel and tourism. They will replace Greg O’Hara, who has been leading this organization since November 2023.
