The Government of India is implementing various schemes with the aim of creating employment opportunities in the textile sector. This information was given by Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margerita in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Friday. He informed that the major plans of the government include PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM Mitra) Park Scheme, which aims to create a world -class industrial ecosystem, which will help in attracting investment and promoting employment.
The government has finalized 7 sites to set up PM Mitra Park. Which is Tamil Nadu (Vidhi Nagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalburgi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) and Maharashtra (Amravati). The purpose of these parks is to make the textile industry globally competitive, attract large investment and promote employment creation including women and marginalized communities in the textile sector.
He said that it is the effort of the government that man -made fiber and apparel and technical clothes should be encouraged to promote large -scale construction. Apart from this, the government is working on the National Technical Textiles Mission focused on market development, skills and export promotion.
