Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday announced the alliance in a joint press conference with AIADMK leader E. Palaniswami in Chennai. Amit Shah claimed that the NDA in Tamil Nadu will form the government with a strong majority. He said that this election will be fought at the national level under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Palaniswami at the state level.

Explaining the formula of the alliance, Amit Shah said, “BJP and AIADMK have decided that we will contest elections in association with other allies under the banner of NDA. There will be no interference of BJP in AIADMK’s internal affairs. After the formation of seats and the government will decide to involve other partners. He also said that no formal talks have started regarding seat sharing, but there will be complete cooperation and coordination between the two parties.
