New Delhi: India said on Thursday that the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is likely to start soon and preparations are going on for this. India and China are considering to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra as part of efforts to improve relations after completing the return of soldiers at two remaining friction points of Damchok and Depassang under the agreement signed in October last year.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that India and China have been in principle to resume flight services between both sides and are being worked on the related methods. The move to resume Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and flight services is part of efforts to improve relations affected by India and China on the Line of Real Control (LAC) in East Ladakh for more than four years.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, “We will soon issue a public notice on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and the journey is likely to start soon. The journey will take place this year. He said,“ We are preparing. Soon more information will be released for the public. It is known that Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has not taken place since 2020.
On re -starting the flight services, Jaiswal said: “Theoretically, both countries have agreed that the flight operations will start again. He said,“ Technical teams from both sides are considering technical arrangements to resume flight services. Both civil aviation authorities have met and are discussing relevant methods including updated outline. Last month, India and China discovered ways to recreate relations and agreed to start efforts to promote the exchange among the people, including direct flights this year to resume Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
It may be known that after the clashes in the Galwan Valley in 2020, relations between the two countries were under severe tension. The meeting in Beijing was held between Gauranglal Das, Joint Secretary, East Asia Division of the Ministry of External Affairs and Liu Ginsang, Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Chinese Foreign Foreign Affairs. After the return of troops in Depsang and Demchok, there have been several meetings between India and China. In January, Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt visited Beijing and held talks with his Chinese counterpart Sun Vedong. In the meeting, both sides decided to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
