Bhubaneswar: Pakistan -born 53 -year -old Sharda Kukreja, who has been living in Bolnagir district of Odisha for 35 years after marrying an Indian citizen, appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday not to separate him from his family, as the police have issued a notice to leave the country. All siblings are also married and living in different parts of India
Superintendent of Police of Bolangir Abhilash ji told PTI that the notice has been given only to the woman, not her spouse or children. The SP said that we have given notice according to the records. She said, “First we came to Koraput district of Odisha and came to Bolnagir after marriage. I have been living in Bolnagir for 35 years. When I was married in 1990, I was only 18 years old. She told that her family came to India on a 60 -day visa in 1987. While all the members of her family are Indians, she still has a Pakistani passport and she has a citizen of that country. And I have also voted in many elections. But technically I am not considered Indian.
Appeal to Prime Minister and Chief Minister, they should not be separated from husband and children
The woman said that she hopes that she will get Indian citizenship after the Citizenship Amendment Act. He told that he has not yet received Indian citizenship. Sharada has appealed to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister not to separate him from her husband and children for fear of being taken out of the country at this age and being separated from the family. He said, “If the Indian government sends me back to Pakistan, where will I go, I will meet? I have no one in that country. I have never gone to Pakistan after 1987.
Identification of 12 Pakistani citizens, order to leave the country by 27 April
Sharada, with a throat, says that she cannot live a single moment without her family. The Odisha government has so far identified 12 Pakistani citizens living on long -term and short -term visas in the state and asked them to leave the country by 27 April.
