Union Minister Mansukh Mandavia said that “one nation-one election” is not just a policy change, but a visionary course reform.
New Delhi: In support of ‘one nation-one election’, alumni leaders across the country gathered in Delhi and formed the National Forum. More than one thousand student leaders from different states and union territories participated in a day discussion on this subject. A book underlining the benefits of implementing an election, an election (ONOE) was also released.
On this occasion, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that instead of getting caught in the continuous cycle of our administrative machinery elections, focus on governance and development. I appeal to everyone to become the voice of the people and force every leader to take a stand on a nation, one election. Student leaders presented their views and suggestions on how to increase the campaign through outreach activities like college debate, community discussion, digital storytelling, door-to-door awareness and cultural initiative, so that people from all areas could be connected.
This is not just a policy change, but a way to go to development

This is not just a policy change, it is a way towards development. Student leaders should take this mission to the ground level, so that it becomes a true mass movement. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reiterated his views and underlined the national importance of reform beyond politics.

Development is interrupted by repeated elections
Said that this is not the agenda of any party – this is a national agenda. Repeated elections disrupt our journey towards developed India. And remember – Today’s student is not a citizen of tomorrow, today’s student is a citizen of today. You still have to play the role, not only in the future. Said that the government had introduced two bills in the Lok Sabha to provide legal framework for holding parliamentary and assembly elections simultaneously. Later, both the bills were sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee for intensive investigation.
Said that the draft law is based on the recommendations of a high level committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind. While the Kovind panel had recommended the elections to the Lok Sabha, Assembly and local bodies simultaneously, the government decided to bring a bill on the Lok Sabha and State elections simultaneously.
