Fame was not a destination for him, but a beautiful prize line of hard work.
Friendship with water started from the age of 6, state champions made in 10 years
Milind Soman’s swimming career was no less than a film story. He started swimming at the age of just 6 years. When most of the children are entangled in school homework, Milind used to spend hours in water every day. By the age of 10, he had become the state champion of Maharashtra, and this was just the beginning. His week -long practice routine was extremely harsh – he used to swim about 65 kilometers every week. This figure is also a challenge for today’s professional athletes. He had told that his day used to start at 4 am and he had completed 3 hours of training before going to school.

Silver medals were brought to India
In 1984, when the South Asian Games were held in Kathmandu, Milind won the silver medal in the 100 meter breaststroke representing India. This victory not only increased his confidence, but also made India proud. At the same time, Milind remained the national champion for four years in 100 meter breaststroke. At that time his technology, speed and stamina could not be compared to any other swimmer in the country.
When ‘water champion’ jumped into the world of glamor
