Thoughts on transferring Chandni Chowk and Sadar Bazaar

Referring to the previous AAP government of Delhi, the CM said that he used to be involved in the game of fighting and allegations and counter-allegations. Those who used to do a little work, promoted it a lot.

New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday suggested transferring old crowded markets like Chandni Chowk and Sadar Bazar in Delhi to new places. He said that it is beneficial to transfer these markets to a new place to strengthen trade and provide relief to the business community in the city. While addressing an event organized by the All India Business Confederation (CAIT) at Pragati Maidan Bharat Mandapam, CM Rekha Gupta highlighted the various initiatives of the new BJP government in Delhi to promote industry and trade.

CM Rekha sought support from traders

He said that to strengthen trade and business in Delhi, the government needs the support of the merchant community. Addressing the program, he said that in old markets like Chandni Chowk and Sadar Bazar, traders have to face a lot of problems in doing business from small, tight places, where it is difficult to breathe. Gupta said that today all such markets should be set up at a new place to provide wide scope, strengthen trading and provide relief to traders.

Government serious to bring apology scheme related to GST

Referring to the previous AAP government of Delhi, he said that he was only involved in the game of fighting and allegations and counter-allegations and campaigning a little bit of work. Giving details of various initiatives of his government, the Chief Minister said that the Merchant Welfare Board will be formed, so that the complaints of the business and business community can be redressed on one platform. He also said that the government is working seriously to bring an apology scheme related to Goods and Services Tax (GST) for the traders of Delhi.

CM said- Do not disturb traders officers

Said that in a recent meeting with GST department officials, I explained to the officials that no bureaucracy will be allowed to run and traders should be treated respectfully and they should be helped. Why should a businessman wait for hours outside the offices. I have warned that if an officer harasses a businessman, he will have to face my anger. He insisted that there is a need to make the system easy and favorable for the traders, so that they themselves come forward to fulfill their tax liabilities. No businessman wants to avoid paying tax. They just need a simple procedure for payment.

Promised to bring good and simple industrial policy

He said and emphasized his government’s commitment to work in this direction. Gupta said that Delhi has no industrial policy and invited traders to prepare a draft for it. He said, “We will bring a good, simple industrial policy to eliminate problems. Single window systems, ease of trade, hassle -free licensing – Government is working on it. Gupta said that the solution to all problems related to industry and business in the city is now possible due to BJP’s triple engine government in Center, Delhi and MCD.
