Rousse Avaneu Court issued notice in National Herald case, Rahul-Sonia Gandhi in trouble

National Herald Case: The Gandhi family is surrounded by difficulties in the National Herald case. The Rouse Awenu Court of Delhi has taken cognizance of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and issued a notice against both. Taking cognizance of this matter, Special Judge Vishal Gogne said that at the time when the charge sheet will be taken, Sonia and Rahul can keep their side, they have the right to it. After this, the next hearing date has been fixed on 8 May.

When was this matter revealed?

It is worth noting that recently the ED filed a charge sheet in this case. The ED started an investigation in the year 2021 in the National Herald case. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy filed a complaint in this case on 26 June 2014. Since then, ED and Indian investigation agencies are constantly under investigation.

What is the National Herald Case?

The National Herald case is related to the National Herald newspaper established by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938 and its publishers Associated Journal Limited (AJL). This newspaper was the mouthpiece of the Congress during the freedom struggle and also operated other publications like Navjivan in Hindi and Qaumi Awaaz in Urdu. By 2008, AJL got into a huge financial crisis and a debt of more than Rs 90 crore was raised on it, which stopped the publication of the newspaper. Subsequently, the Congress party gave a loan of Rs 90 crore to AJL, which was later transferred to a company called Young Indian Limited for just Rs 50 lakh. According to the information, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have 76 percent shares in Young Indian, AJL has a stake in about 2000 crores, gained control over it.
