Mumbai: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Saturday that the construction of the original station of bullet train in BKC, Mumbai is going on fast. Vaishnav visited the underground station under construction at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and reviewed its ground progress. The Railway Minister said that the bullet train will soon start running in the country. He was accompanied by an officer of the National High-Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), who is implementing the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project more than 500 km long, as well as representatives of Central Railway and Western Railway.

The tunnel work along with the station wall also accelerated

He said that the work of strengthening the lowest B-3 basement level and station walls has been completed. The Railway Minister said that work is going on very fast at the original station of the bullet train in BKC. The work of the station wall has started and the tunnel work is also going on very fast. He said that all the ongoing works are going on at a fast pace after land acquisition in Maharashtra section ahead of the tunnel part (Shil Fata). Work is going on to build this world class station.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed ​​Rail Corridor Project

Officials of NHSRCL said that about 76 percent of the excavation work at BKC Bullet Train Station has been completed. After inspection, the minister moved to Pune, where he had to flag off two long distance trains in the evening. The total cost of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-speed rail corridor project has been estimated at Rs 1.08 lakh crore. According to the shareholding system, the Government of India will contribute Rs 10,000 crore, while the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra will contribute 5 thousand crores. The remaining amount will be provided through loan at 0.1 percent interest from Japan. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said last week that the ambitious bullet train project will be operational by 2028.
