New residential projects will be started soon in these 12 districts including Lucknow in UP, quality should not be compromised

The UP government said on Saturday that 12 districts including Kanpur, Mathura, Lucknow, Jhansi, Bareilly, Aligarh and Agra will soon have new residential projects. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was informed about this during a high level meeting with the Housing and Urban Planning Department on Saturday. Officials told the CM that the projects approved under the Chief Minister’s Urban Extension/New City Promotion Scheme will be launched in stages between June to December 2025.

The deadline should be strictly followed in all projects: CM

The city covered under the scheme is Jhansi, Bareilly, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Agra (Kakua), Kanpur (Naya Kanpur city scheme), Mathura (Transport Nagar), Moradabad (Didouji), Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Lucknow. The CM directed the officials that the time limit in all these projects should be strictly followed and the quality and standards should be maintained. Emphasizing that frequent objections are unfair and the process should be streamlined for single-example solution. He further directed that all such pending cases should be settled within the time limit.

He emphasized an integrated approach for urban planning, residential security, infrastructure and digital management. He also directed that the GIS -based master plan for cities, which have not yet been approved, should be approved before the end of the current month. There is a plan to complete the corridors of Kanpur Metro 1 and 2 by the end of this year. He was further informed that the first corridor of Agra Metro is aimed to be completed by December 2025, while the second corridor is expected to be completed by 2026. Adityanath was also told that public suggestions are being invited from April 16 to May 30, 2025 on the draft of Building Construction and Development Rules 2025.

Projects going on under township policy will be completed in time

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that there should be no further delay in preparing its detailed project report (DPR). A three -month action plan was also reviewed in the meeting. It was said that revised guidelines will also be issued soon to complete the projects running under the Integrated Township Policy.
