Akshay Kumar’s four hit films made a big bang in South ……

Akshay Kumar Blockbuster Movies: Four films of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar have made a special identity in South Indian cinema. Remakes were made in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada of films like ‘Khiladi’, ‘Khaki’, ‘OMG’ and ‘Special 26’.

While today Bollywood seems to be dependent on South films, some stories of Akshay Kumar had already attracted South Cinema towards them. Films like ‘OMG’ proved that a strong script and sensitive content can win the hearts of the audience in any language. The special thing is that one of these films made a remake twice and both versions hoisted flags at the box office.

Start of ‘Khiladi’, not found in remake

Released in 1992, ‘Khiladi’ made Akshay Kumar a new star. This thriller film of Abbas-Mastan was first produced in the South in 1995 in the name of ‘Ata Hudugata’ in Kannada language. However, the pair of Raghavendra Rajkumar and Prema failed to pull the audience and the film flopped.

Telugu avatar of ‘Khaki’, changed name but passion continues

The 2004 multistarrer film ‘Khaki’ was liked by the audience. The film was remade as ‘Satyamev Jayate’ in Telugu in 2009. The film with Rajasekhar and Neetu Chandra, the film, was in discussion among the audience despite an average performance.

Two remakes of ‘OMG’, both of them got immense love

Released in 2012, ‘OMG: Oh My God’ was not just a film but a thinking, which was recreated by the producers of South twice. In 2015, ‘Gopala Gopala’ in Telugu, in which Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh were seen, proved to be superhit. At the same time, in 2016, Kannada version was also formed with Kichha Sudeep and Upendra Rao as ‘Mukund Murari’ and he also tasted success.

Tamil journey of ‘Special 26’ faded

The commendable but limited commercial success of 2013, ‘Special 26’, was remake in Tamil in 2018 under the name ‘Thana Sernadha Kuttam’. Despite the presence of Surya and Kirti Suresh, the film was seen struggling at the box office and did not live up to expectations.
