Operation Sindoor: The Indian Army has given an accurate strike on terrorist bases at Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) occupied Kashmir (POK), giving a befitting reply to the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of Defense has named this action as ‘Operation Sindoor’, under which India targeted the terrorist infrastructure. A total of nine terrorist bases were destroyed in this operation.

The Defense Ministry said in its official statement, “The Indian armed forces started ‘Operation Sindoor’ to destroy the terrorist structure in Pakistan and POK, from where terrorist attacks were being conspired against India. Our action was focused, restrained and escaping from provocation. No Pakistani military hideouts were targeted.” The ministry also clarified that India took full restraint in the way the selection and action of the bases.
Revenge of Pahalgam attack
This action was taken in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in which 25 Indians and one Nepali tourist were brutally murdered. The ministry said, “Our commitment is that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable. Detailed information on ‘Operation Sindoor’ will be shared later.”
Who took the responsibility of the attack?
The responsibility of this horrific attack in Pahalgam was taken by Lashkar-e-Taiba’s associate organization ‘The Resistance Front’. However, the organization later denied this under pressure from the Pakistani Army and ISI. 26 tourists lost their lives in this attack, after which security forces in Jammu and Kashmir intensified the campaign against terrorists.
After the attack, the Jammu and Kashmir government decided to temporarily shut down 48 tourist places. Along with this, India suspended the Indus Water Treaty, canceled all types of visas and directed to reduce the number of employees in the Pakistani Embassy.
