Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday extended its campaign till May 31 to help food traders register and get licenses. Said that those doing business without valid documents will not be allowed to do business. The campaign launched by the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) in the first week of April is to bring all the food-related businesses from street vendors to large restaurants and food making units under compulsory food safety compliance.
Proimse of government to provide safe and quality food to consumers
The objective of the campaign is to ensure that each food business operator (FBO) in both urban and rural areas registers and obtain licenses under the Food Safety and Standards Act. The government said in a statement that the purpose of this step is to guarantee to provide safe and quality food to consumers, as well as curb irregular practices in the food sector. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that no food business should run outside the purview of food safety rules.
