India will host this year
This year is going to host the 72nd edition of the Miss World competition to be held. Many participants from all over the world have reached India. Hyderabad has been decorated for the preparation of the competition. Officially the competition will start with a formal inauguration at the Gachibovali Indoor Stadium on 7 May and will end with a grand closing ceremony on 31 May. Let me tell you, this is not the first time that India is hosting this competition, even before this country has hosted this beauty event.
How many times has history has been created first
In 1996, India hosted the Miss World Competition for the first time and made its presence felt on the Global Beauty Forum. The event was commanded by Amitabh Bachchan’s production company ABCL and it was held at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Let me tell you, the scope of the competition was global- participants from 88 countries participated in it, in which new countries like Bosnia, Macedonia and old winning country like Granada were seen. The 1996 Miss World competition was also technically special, as this year the competition launched its official website, which laid the foundation of the digital age and made it possible to directly connect with the global audiences.
History was created in 2024
After waiting for almost three decades, India again reiterated the history by organizing the 71st edition of Miss World in 2024. This time the competition was organized at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai, in which beautiful girls from 120 countries participated. On behalf of India, Sini Shetty of Karnataka not only represented the country but also introduced the image of a strong, educated and self -sufficient Indian woman. The presence of many celebrities of Bollywood and sports in the program made it more grand. Let me tell you that in this edition, Christina Pisjkova of the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World 2024, and India once again caught everyone’s attention with their strong hosting on the world stage.
Miss World organized in India for the second consecutive time
In 2025, India is once again hosting the Miss World competition, which has got this opportunity for the second consecutive time. The 72nd edition is being held in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, which will start from 7 May and conclude on 31 May with the Grand Finale. The theme of the competition is ‘The World Looks at Telangana’, under which the state is preparing to display its historical importance, spiritual sites, medical services and safe tourism on the global platform. The grand event was announced at a press conference, which included many big personalities including Miss World Limited Chairperson Julia Morley, actor Sonu Sood (who has been given the role of a judge) and Miss India 2023 Nandini Gupta. The event is not only hosting beauty competition for India, but has also become a symbol of culture, diversity and international friendship.
