Chandigarh: After hearing an explosion on Saturday in Pathankot, Punjab, the administration became quite alert. The officials closed the area markets as a precaution. People in Pathankot and Jalandhar districts should stay awake with the voices of the explosion amid tension overnight. Whereas in the military struggle between India and Pakistan, air -siran started ringing in Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Ferozepur. Officials said that a control room has been set up in Pathankot, which is working round the clock for the convenience of the people.
Advice to tell the nearest police station when an object falls from the sky
Pathankot Deputy Commissioner Aditya Uppal has urged people to inform the nearest police station or contact the control room if any item or goods fall from the sky. Uppal said that it has been seen that some people take away such things, which can prove to be dangerous. He warned of legal action against such people. He also told the people that if such an item is found on the ground, then they neither go to him nor touch it. Officials said that in addition to Pathankot, people in Jalandhar district on Saturday morning heard the explosion, while air -siran started ringing in Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Ferozepur.

Some houses in the area also damage due to attack, laborers injured

In the morning we found that some metal item has fallen in the fields. Later the defense personnel came and picked up the debris. Officials said that the accident took place in Kanganiwal village of Jalandhar district on Saturday morning. Local people said that a migrant laborer was injured in this incident, while some houses in the area have also been damaged.
Water tank damaged, glass of many windows broken
A woman from the area said that I was standing near a window, when at around 1.30, an object collided with a water tank (house), which broke the glass of 4-5 houses. He told that a migrant laborer has suffered an injury to his hand, which was taken to the hospital. There was smoke all around. Another local resident Muskan also said that there was a big explosion at night, causing many people to come out of their homes. A car was damaged. Surjeet Kaur said that red light shone in the sky and then a big explosion occurred. Water tanks of some other houses in the area were also damaged.

Avoid going to big meetings or congestion in Jalandhar: Deputy Commissioner
Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Himanshu Aggarwal has urged people to avoid large meetings or congestion under precautionary measures. He also urged people to avoid going into the open or tall buildings. Apart from this, the markets in Jalandhar Cantt and Adampur ordered to be closed. DC asked people to remain calm and said that malls and high commercial buildings will be closed today in the rest of the district. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Phagwara Akshita Gupta said that an advice has been issued to keep everyone safe.
About 7-8 feet deep pit in the field due to falling missile
All commercial establishments remained closed on Saturday in Kapurthala. Officials said that debris of unknown items has also been found at some places in Beas of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Pathankot and Tarn Taran districts. Officials said that an unknown item fell in a farm between Kharatan and Sahni villages in Phagwara district early Saturday. Local people said that a sound like an explosion was heard from Major Singh’s fields in Kharatan village towards Sahni at 2.40 am. Officials said that the collision of an unknown object formed a pit about 7-8 feet deep and 12-14 feet wide in the field.
Drone attacks failed in Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka and Amritsar districts
Similarly, an unknown missile fell into a field in Chichra village of Gurdaspur district early on Saturday, causing a pit. Officials said that security forces thwarted several drone attacks by Pakistan in Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka and Amritsar districts. In Ferozepur, three members of a family were injured on Friday night, when a missile from a Pakistani drone destroyed by the Indian air defense system fell at his house in the village of Khai fame, causing a car on fire.
