The government has nominated Tharoor as the leader of one of the seven multi -party delegations, so that they can bring India’s view to the world to eliminate terrorism.
New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has attacked the party’s ally Shashi Tharoor fiercely. Taking a sarcasm at Shashi Tharoor, he said that there is a difference between “being in Congress and being Congress”. He said this when the government had nominated him to lead a multi -party delegation abroad to put forward the attitude against Pakistan on terrorism. Congress general secretary and communication in -charge Ramesh postponed the question whether any action would be taken against Tharoor.
Feeling honored with the invitation of the Government of India: Tharoor
The government has nominated Tharoor as a leader of one of the seven multi -party delegations, so that they can display India’s national consent and firm attitude to combat terrorism in all forms and expressions and take the world the message of the country of zero tolerance against terrorism. Accepting nominations to lead one of the delegations, Tharoor said in a post on X that I feel honored to invite the Government of India to lead an all -party delegation among the five major capitals to present our country’s point of view on recent events. When national interest is included and my services are required, I will not be found to be short. Jai Hind!” They said.
Congress said-Government should take advice from leaders of opposition
When asked about the inclusion of Tharoor as a representative of Congress in the government list of leaders who led the delegation abroad, Ramesh told reporters, “Being in Congress and being Congress is a difference of land and sky.” “In the democratic system, when individual MPs are sent as part of the official delegation, MPs should take the consent of the party. If the government wants to send them as part of the delegation, then the MP should ask the party. He said that without consulting the party, the names (in the delegation) cannot include the names of the MPs. We all need to be associated with the party, but the government needs to be consulted.
Silent silence in the name of action on Tharoor
He further said that according to the general practice and a good democratic system, when MPs are sent to the official delegation, they should get the consent of the concerned party. Asked whether there will be any other action in this matter. On this, Ramesh said that the government had asked for four names from the Congress and it has sent four names. He said that there will be no change in the names from the Congress. He said, “The ball is now in the government’s court.” He said that Union Minister Kiren Rijiju had a conversation with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi, but no name was discussed. On the other hand, the BJP questioned the Congress’ choice of Congress for delegations, wondering if it did not nominate Tharoor because they are better than the party high command.
A strong step in the fight against terrorism: Rijiju
In a post on X on Saturday, Rijiju shared the names of leaders who led seven delegations in various countries, including Tharoor’s name. “In the most important moments, India is united. Seven all -party delegations will soon visit major partner countries, which will take our shared message. Rijiju said in his post,” This is a strong step in the fight against terrorism. This is a strong reflection of national unity beyond politics and differences.
