Officials said that the 15 -day special campaign to identify illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi migrants started in Bareilly on Monday.
Bareilly: On the instructions of CM Yogi, a 15 -day campaign has been started in Bareilly district to identify Rohingya and Bangladeshis. The government believes that this causes the security of the country to threaten the country. Officials said that the 15 -day special campaign to identify illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi migrants started in Bareilly on Monday. The district police has formed police station -wise teams for the campaign, which will run for a fortnight under the supervision of additional police superintendents and circle officers. All station house officials (SHOs) across the district have been instructed to actively participate in the campaign.
Tents and huts will raid settlements
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya launched the initiative during a meeting held from his camp office on Monday. SSP Arya directed that the campaign will focus on identifying persons living in temporary settlements like tents and huts in the district. He said that its objective is to find out illegal migrants and initiate legal action against them. He reiterated that the Thanwar teams will work under strict supervision of senior officials to ensure full identity and action. In the meeting, the SSP reviewed the preparations for the law and order of the district in view of the upcoming three -tier panchayat elections.
Emphasis on safety of public idols
He directed the authorities to verify and monitor the persons involved in previous disputes or known rivalry, which can affect the electoral process. The SHO was instructed to keep strict monitoring in sensitive areas. Arya also emphasized the importance of protecting and maintaining public statues of major historical personalities across the district. He said that a public relations campaign called “Walkthrrow” was carried out from 18 to 24 May, during which police personnel patrolled parks, markets, temples and other public places in the morning and evening, so that visibility and faith between citizens would increase. The SSP has now directed police stations to continue such initiative regularly and strengthen public engagement.
Historyheters will be monitored
Additionally, the SSP reviewed the ongoing monitoring of history -sheeters, confirmation of the records of dead or incorrectly listed criminals and eliminating fake entries. Beat officers have been asked to actively patrol their scheduled areas and inform their SHOs about any intelligence information. The SSP also reviewed the action taken against the top-10 listed criminals of the district. Called strict legal action to awaken the public’s confidence and stop criminal elements. Regarding the Eid-ul-Azha festival coming on June 7, the SSP reviewed the communal incidents of the last five years and directed that adequate police deployment should be ensured at all sensitive places. In order to celebrate the festival peacefully, instructions were given to identify such places in advance and prepare accordingly.
