The Yogi government launched electric vehicle manufacturing and mobility policy 2022 in 2022, which aims to accelerate the adoption of EV vehicles.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of electric vehicles in India. Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to adopt the most electric vehicle. Uttar Pradesh is leading the electric vehicle (EV) revolution in India, which has topped the country. More than 4.14 lakh electric vehicles have been registered by Uttar Pradesh Transport Department, while 1.79 lakh vehicles are registered in Maharashtra and 1.83 lakh vehicles in Delhi Transport Department. Thus Uttar Pradesh is ahead of major states like Maharashtra and Delhi in registration. The Yogi government launched the electric vehicle manufacturing and dynamics policy 2022 in 2022, which aims to accelerate the adoption of EV vehicles, build a strong charging infrastructure and to establish Uttar Pradesh as a global center for EV and battery manufacturing.
Target of investment of 30 thousand crore rupees
A target of investment of 30 thousand crore rupees was set under the policy. The Yogi government believes that investment will create 10 lakh jobs, which will create a platform for transformational development in the state’s electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. In this policy, the Yogi government made attractive proposals to investors for investment. A major component of the region is the widespread popularity of e-rickshaws, now 85% of the sale of electric vehicles (EV) in the state. These vehicles have proved to be extremely effective for passenger and goods transport, especially in urban areas. Uttar Pradesh Government of India has emerged as the biggest beneficiaries of Fame I and Fame II (rapid adoption and construction of hybrids and electric vehicles in India), which has further promoted its e-mobile efforts.
New EV charging stations will be more than 300
According to its focus on the infrastructure, the Yogi government has recently approved the installation of more than 300 new electric vehicles (EV) charging stations in 16 municipal bodies. The most new charging points are being installed in Ayodhya, a fast growing tourist destination. In view of the increasing demand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given priority to the development of additional fast-charging stations and increasing the current facilities.
102 million electric vehicle expected by 2030
It is estimated that by 2030, the number of electric vehicles in India can be up to 102 million. However, according to a study by Alvarez and Marsal, the current eV-to-pivatic-assassion ratio in India is 135, above the global ideal of 6 to 20. The state’s comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) strategy focuses on three columns: expansion of EV construction, accelerating charging stations and promoting the adoption of electric mobility by the public. With these decisive steps, Uttar Pradesh is not only leading India towards green mobility, but is also establishing itself at the national and global level in the electric vehicle (EV) region.
