Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the incident and announced assistance of four lakh rupees to the family of each deceased.
Gwalior: In Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, four devotees who went on a Kavad Yatra were killed and two others were seriously injured due to a high speed car. Police said that after hitting the roadside Kanwari (devotees of Lord Shiva), the high speed overturned due to losing control of the car driver. An official said that the car driver escaped from the spot, but he was later arrested. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the incident and announced assistance of four lakh rupees to the family of each deceased.
Accident occurred due to car tire burst
The accident occurred due to a tire burst of the car. City Superintendent of Police Hina Khan said that the incident took place at around 2 am on Shivpuri Link Road near Agra-Mumbai National Highway (NH-3). Angry local people protested at the accident site and demanded the arrest of the culprits. The car driver escaped after the incident, but later the police arrested him. According to the police, Kawandia was a resident of Simaria village near the Ghatigaon. Police said that the deceased have been identified as Puran Banjara, Ramesh Banjara, Dinesh and Dharmendra. He said that the incident is being investigated. An official said that CM Yadav has expressed grief over the sudden death of four kanwadis in the accident during the Holy Kavad Yatra in Bhitarwar assembly constituency of Gwalior district.
Four lakhs help to the families of the deceased
He instructed the officers to provide an ex-gratia amount of four lakh rupees to the families of the four deceased. Yadav prayed to Lord Mahakal for the peace of the departed souls. The official said that the district administration is providing all possible help to the victims and instructed the doctors to get the injured free treatment. On the other hand, a Kanwariya was found dead in the camp in Muzaffarnagar, UP. Police said that the body of a 50 -year -old Kanwariya was found in a Kawand camp in Meerapur town on Wednesday. Local SHO Bablu Kumar said that the deceased Harikishan, Kasampur was a resident of Tulhedi village and was staying in a camp in Prajapati Dharamshala since Tuesday evening. The official said that Harikishan was bringing Kavad from Haridwar and stayed in the camp. He was found dead in the morning. The police suspect that he died due to heart rate. Officials said that after receiving the information, his body was handed over to his family without a post -mortem.
