Kargil Vijay Diwas: Every year 26 July is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Day, a day that testifies to the indomitable valor and unconventional courage of the Indian Army. In 1999, the Indian Armed Forces thwarted an attempt to secretly capture Kargil’s peaks by the Pakistani Army under ‘Operation Vijay’. In 1999, the Pakistan Army had secretly planned to isolate Kashmir and Ladakh by occupying the high hills of Kargil. But India not only withdrew the enemy, but also caused heavy damage to the enemy.
