Rahul gandhi: The next hearing date in the case of defamation filed for his comment on an alleged gang rape incident in Hathras in 2020 against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been fixed on 21 August. In this regard, advocate Munna Singh Pundir had filed three cases against Rahul Gandhi on behalf of Ravi, Ram Kumar alias Ramu and Lavkush in the MP-MLA court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Deepak Nath Saraswati.

Advocate Munna Singh Pundir said, “We have received the same date for all three cases. Evidence is yet to be presented in Ravi and Lavkush cases, while evidence has been presented in the case of Ram Kumar. After the evidence is presented in the first two cases, orders will be passed together. Before calling Rahul Gandhi, notice will be sent to them and their side will also be heard. After the presentation of the opposition in the Lok Sabha on August 21, the notice will be sent to them. The possibility of their side will be heard and the order for the case will be passed. “

Dalit girl was raped

In September 2020, a Dalit girl from a village was allegedly gang -raped and died a few days later during treatment at a hospital in Delhi. Four people of the village were accused of committing crime. Three of them – Ramkumar, Lavkush and Ravi – were acquitted, while Sandeep was found guilty and is still in jail. Opposition leaders caught the matter and attacked the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi visited Hathras and met the victim’s family members. He later posted on X that keeping the victim’s family members locked in her house and openly roaming the rape accused, against the basic spirit of the constitution created by BR Ambedkar. Rahul Gandhi had also accused the BJP government of not fulfilling the promise of settling the victim’s family members to another place. Rahul Gandhi said in his post, “We, people of Congress and India Alliance, who believe in Ambedkarji’s Constitution, will help the family together – we will renovate their house.” Pundir said that the court acquitted three accused, yet Gandhi posted on his X handle that the rapists were roaming openly.
