Both the youths were kidnapped and brought to Tadwa village in a vehicle, where both were tied to a tree and beaten fiercely with sticks.
Godhra: Two tribal men were kidnapped and tied to a tree when they fled with two women in Panchmahal district of Gujarat and allegedly beaten them by a group of people. The police gave this information on Friday. Police said that both the women were also beaten up by their relatives and local villagers. Ten people have been arrested in connection with this incident captured on camera. Deputy Superintendent of Police NV Patel said that a video was shared widely on social media, in which two people were shown to be tied with a tree with a group of people and beating them with sticks and peaks. After the incident, the police started investigation and arrested the accused.
Investigation started on the FIR of victims
Patel told the media that further investigation of the video revealed that it was shot in a village in Shehra police station area of the district on Thursday. Deputy Superintendent of Police NV Patel said that the Shehra police have lodged an FIR on the basis of the complaint of two victims, who said that the arrested accused had kidnapped him, some of whom were relatives of women with whom he was in a relationship. The relatives of the women were angry with both of them running away with them and found them in Mehmadabad in the neighboring Kheda district.
The culprits will not be spared: Deputy Superintendent of Police
An official of the Shehra police station said that both were kidnapped and brought to Tadwa village in a vehicle where both were tied to a tree and beaten as a sentence. Police said that the women who came with them also brought their relatives and other villagers to the village and assaulted them. A case has been registered against relatives and other villagers of the women involved in the incident under the sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), including wrong imprisonment, kidnapping, illegally gathering, rioting and intentional insult and others. Deputy Superintendent of Police NV Patel said that the culprits will not be spared.
