Doval reached Moscow on Wednesday to hold important talks on bilateral energy and defense relations and to prepare the land of President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India later this year.
Moscow: India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Sergei Shigu, Secretary, Russian Security Council in Moscow on Thursday. During this time, Russia said that Russia is committed to enhance active cooperation with India to create a more equitable and sustainable world system and to ensure the supremacy of international law. Doval reached Moscow on Wednesday to hold important talks on bilateral energy and defense relations and to prepare the land of President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India later this year. His visit began on a day when US President Donald Trump issued an executive order to impose an additional tariff on Indian items on buying Russian oil, which doubled to 50 percent. During his meeting with Doval, Shigu said that Russia and India are strong, time-defined friendship relations.
Both countries interested in cooperation
Said that now a multi-level confidence-based political dialogue between our countries is working effectively. This meeting of Doval and Shoigu will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. It is important to decide the date of the next full dialogue among our leaders. Government news agency Tass said him quoted. It is known that Kremlin spokesperson Dimitri Peskov had said on November 19, 2024 that Putin will visit India soon. On this occasion, Shoigu said that strengthening special strategic partnership with India is the most important for Russia. Shigu said that with India we are determined to ensure the rule of international law, to carry forward active cooperation to combat modern challenges and dangers jointly.
Summit will give new direction to relationships
Doval hoped that the summit would give a new direction to the development of bilateral relations and a “solid and solid” results of the dialogue would yield. According to local reports, Doval may meet top Russian officials to discuss defense and economic cooperation. In addition, Kremlin’s foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov said that Russia will inform NSA Doval about American Special Envoy Steve Witchoff’s conversation with President Putin, after which it has been agreed to organize the US-Russia Summit next week.
