Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government will start ‘Gaudham Yojana’ for livestock safety and breed improvement and will also open new employment opportunities in villages through organic farming, fodder development and cow based industries. A district administration official said on Saturday that the scheme has been designed in such a way that it will ensure stray and abandoned cattle care, as well as providing a stable source of regular income to the shepherds and cattle rearers. This scheme will bring economic stability and self -sufficiency in rural life. A government statement said that the draft of the scheme has already been approved by the Finance and Livestock Development Department.
Employment opportunities will be created in villages
The statement quoted Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai as saying that Gaudham Yojana will ensure livestock safety in the state and at the same time providing a regular source of income to a large number of shepherds and cattlemen. Through this, efforts to improve breed will help cattle in more milk production and they will become more useful for agriculture. He further said that this scheme will give impetus to organic farming and fodder development programs, which will create more opportunities for rural employment and strengthen the village economy. In the coming years, Gaudham Yojana (cow shelter scheme) will play an important role in making Chhattisgarh a leading state in the field of livestock protection and rural development. The release said that under this scheme, shepherds (shepherds) will get a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,916, while cattle ranchers (servants) will get Rs 13,126 per month. Apart from this, a certain daily allowance will also be provided for cattle fodder. A grant of Rs 30 will be given in the third year and Rs 35 in the fourth year.
Gaudham will be established in rural areas
The budget, terms and conditions have been finalized for the smooth implementation of the scheme. Gudham will be established only on government land, where safe fences, cattle sheds, adequate water supply and electricity are available. In the cows where there is already infrastructure, the surrounding pasture land will be allocated for the cultivation of green fodder. If any registered Gaushala Committee refuses to operate Godham, other voluntary organizations, NGOs, Trust, Farmers Producer Companies or Cooperative Societies will be eligible to apply for its operation. Gaudham will be established on the basis of the proposals of the district administration. In the first phase, Gaudham will be established in rural areas located on the banks of major national highways in Chhattisgarh. The name of the selected organization will be sent to the Chhattisgarh State Gau Seva Commission.
