Doval and Dennis Manturov discussed bilateral military-technical relations and implementation of joint projects in strategic fields.

Ajit Doval-Dennis Monturov Meeting in Moscow: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met Russia’s first Deputy Prime Minister (DY PM) Dennis Manturov. Manturov is also in charge of defense industry and business. Doval and Dennis Manturov discussed bilateral military-technical relations and implementation of joint projects in strategic fields. Doval was in Russia to hold important talks on bilateral energy and defense relations and to prepare land for President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India at the end of this year. Manturov is the co-chairman of the Indo-Russian Inter-Governmental Commission on trade, economic and cultural cooperation with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. He met Doval on Friday.

Talk on civic aircraft construction

The Russian government’s press service said in a release that the two sides discussed topical issues of military-technical cooperation between Russia and India and the implementation of joint projects in other strategic fields including civil aircraft, metallurology and chemical industry. According to the Russian Embassy in India, the talks discussed the implementation of joint projects in other strategic fields including Russia-India military-technical cooperation as well as civil aircraft building, metallurology and other strategic fields. On Thursday, Doval met President Putin in Kremlin to discuss bilateral cooperation and reiterated New Delhi’s commitment to continue cooperation on all fronts with Moscow despite external pressure.

Discussion on international issues also

NSA’s visit to Russia is taking place at a time when US President Donald Trump has imposed an additional tariff of 25 percent on Indian goods on purchasing Russian oil, which has doubled to 50 percent. According to sources, Doval has invited President Putin to come to India at the end of this year on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which Putin has accepted. Prime Minister Modi spoke to President Putin on the phone on Friday, during which the two leaders reiterated their commitment to deepen the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia. Before meeting Putin, Doval also held a detailed discussion with Sergei Shoigu, Secretary, Russian Security Council and spoke on major bilateral and international issues in view of Trump’s tariff.
