OPPOSITION on Ex VP’s Presence: This matter has now become a matter of political and constitutional debate. Waiting for the official statement from the government on the position of the former Vice President, while the opposition has described it as a question of democratic rights.
Opposition on Ex VP’s Presence: Since the resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, there is a stir in the political corridors. Senior leader of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has shifted questions on the central government regarding the sudden disappearance of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Raut has written a detailed letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah not only sought confirmation of the safe presence of Dhankhar, but has also said that if there is no transparency in the case, the opposition will not back down from adopting a legal path.
Sudden resignation and growing questions
According to Raut, on the first day of the monsoon session on July 21, Dhankhar resigned from the post of Vice President. Since then, neither he has been seen publicly nor has come in front of the media. Many members of Rajya Sabha and political allies have tried to contact him, but all efforts failed. This silence has raised questions not only in political circles but also among the general public.
Bazaar of rumors hot
Raut has claimed in his letter that in Delhi it is a rumor that Dhankhar has been limited to his residence and has serious questions on his safety and health. He said, “No one is getting from the former Vice President nor his staff is talking to anyone, this situation is very unusual and worrying.”
Legal battle preparation
Sanjay Raut revealed that some of his fellow MPs are considering entering the ‘Habius Corpus’ petition in the Supreme Court in this case to directly reply from the court on the presence and situation of Dhankhar. However, he clarified that the first step would have to be taken from the Home Minister.
Case transformed into political and constitutional debate
After the frequent questions of Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut, this matter has now become a matter of dignity and transparency of constitutional positions, not only one person’s disappearance. The opposition says that the government should immediately clarify where the former Vice Presidents of the country are, how is their health and are they completely safe. At the same time, no official statement has come from the central government so far.
