Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba, who was involved in Oli’s delegation, said on Monday that direct flights between Nepalganj and Delhi will top the agenda during the upcoming India visit.

India-Nepal Relations: Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli can come on an official visit to India on 16-17 September. Sources in the Ministry of External Affairs gave this information on Monday. He informed that during this visit, many issues like business, tourism, information technology, connectivity, hydroelect and Seema will be discussed. The Foreign Minister’s press advisor, a Raj Pathak, said that the Ministry of External Affairs is currently finalizing the agenda of the proposed high -level journey and the journey program. Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba, who was involved in Oli’s delegation, said on Monday that direct flights between Nepalganj and Delhi will top the agenda during the upcoming India visit.

Flight will start between Nepalganj and New Delhi

In a meeting with political leaders, MPs and industrialists in the Ministry of External Affairs, Deuba said that the direct air connectivity between the city of Nepalganj and New Delhi will be my top agenda. He said that if this happens, it will definitely change the picture of Western Nepal. He further said that the government has already done the ground work required to strengthen the necessary infrastructure in the area for this purpose. Deuba said that the proposed direct flight between Nepalganj and Delhi will benefit people from about 25 districts of western Nepal. He said that if we start a direct flight between Nepalganj and Delhi, Nepalganj can become the entrance of Kailash-Mansarovar located in Tibet. He informed that people of both countries will benefit from the proposed flight between the two cities.

India Nepal’s largest trading partner

Nepal shares a range of more than 1,850 km with five Indian states Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Surrounded by the site, Nepal is very much dependent on India for transporting goods and services. Nepal is also important in terms of India’s holistic strategic interests in the region, and leaders of the two countries have often mentioned centuries-old “roti-daughter” relations. Historical, cultural and geographical relations between India and Nepal are deep. Recently, the two countries signed several agreements to promote trade, energy and connectivity. India is the largest trading partner in Nepal, and both countries are cooperating in the development of infrastructure. However, border disputes such as Kalapani and lipule issues have caused tension from time to time. Both governments are trying to resolve these issues through dialogue. In recent years, India provided Covid-19 vaccine and financial assistance to Nepal, which further strengthened mutual trust.
