Varah jayanti 2025: The birth anniversary of Varaha, the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is celebrated on the third date of the Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Religious belief is that on this day Lord Vishnu took the form of Varaha and freed the earth immersed in the sea from the demon Hiranyaksha and again established it in his place. This festival is considered a symbol of the victory of religion, courage and justice. In the year 2025, Varaha Jayanti will be celebrated on 25 August, Monday.

According to the Hindu calendar, Varaha Jayanti will come on 25 August 2025. Tritiya Tithi will start on August 25 at 12:35 pm and it will be till 1:54 pm on August 26. On this day, the most auspicious time of worship will be from 1:40 pm to 4:15 pm. During this period, worship of Lord Varaha is considered special fruitful. Devotees attain virtue by fasting, charity and worshiping.

Mythology and importance

According to mythology, the demon Hiranyaksha had immersed the earth into the sea. Then the balance of the universe deteriorated and the gods prayed to Lord Vishnu to protect. Vishnu took the form of Varaha and picked up the earth from the depths of the sea and put it on his teeth and established it in a reserve place. After this, God killed Hiranyaksha and established religion and justice. This is the reason that this festival is considered a symbol of the victory of truth and religion. According to the scriptures, worship and worship on this day leads to wealth, health, freedom from fear and victory over the enemy.

Worship method and special measures

On the day of Varaha Jayanti, after bathing in the morning, the house or temple should be purified. The idol or picture of Lord Varaha is worshiped with Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee and butter). Kalash is worshiped by filling water in a metal urn, installing mango leaves and coconut. It is auspicious to recite Vishnu Stotra, Varaha Praise and Shrimad Bhagavadgita at the time of worship. Fasters donate clothes, food and money to the poor. At the end of the puja, Aarti is performed by offering incense-lamp, naivedya, fruits and sweets. Special enjoyment such as Panchare, Halwa, Curd and Fruits are offered in many places. People observing fast can break fasting in the evening with fruit or curd and fruit.

It is believed that worship done on Varaha Jayanti brings freedom from fear, victory over enemies, wealth, prosperity and spiritual progress. This festival reminds us that when injustice and unrighteousness increases, then God himself takes incarnation and establishes religion and balance.
