SIR Against Protest : Opposition to the voter list amendment is taking place in Bihar to Parliament. Once again, the opposition has staged a protest against SIR in the Parliament complex. During this time, India block also raised slogans of ‘Vote thieves, Gaddi Chhupa’ and ‘Stop Vote Stop’. Apart from this, the opposition also took up posters in hand demanding SIR. Congress, Trinamool Congress, DMK, Left parties, RJD and Samajwadi Party leaders were opposing the Center and Election Commission by taking posters right in front of the Makar Gate of Parliament House. At the same time, some members of the Samajwadi Party had also taken copies of the affidavit given by their leader Akhilesh Yadav to the Election Commission.
Will not let democracy crush: Kharge
In the affidavits taken by Samajwadi Party leaders in their hands, the Election Commission was accused of removing the names of voters of backward communities. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge (Mallikarjun kharge) Shared a video of the opposition’s protests and said that the Election Commission cannot back down from its constitutional duty nor can the opposition avoid questions of political parties. The right to vote is the most important right given to us by the Constitution of India. He further said that any attempt to crush Indian democracy will be strongly opposed on the streets. Let us tell you that the Rajya Sabha tried to raise the issue of SIR but the Deputy Chairman did not listen to him.
Votes cut by people of the previous community
Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Election Commission is trying to threaten us, but we are not afraid of any threat. We will continue to fight to save democracy. Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the names of voters of many backward communities including Election Commission Maurya, Pal, Bhagel and Rathore community are being deducted from the voters list to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that the SP had raised this issue earlier, but it is very important to understand that this is being done deliberately to cut the votes of backward classes, while it is being shown that these votes are being transferred elsewhere. He claimed that his party had identified the constituencies where he lost by a small margin and where the voters were role to be cut.
