Demand for MSP Law: Farmers of Haryana and Punjab have once again intensified the demand for MSP. In this episode, the United Kisan Morcha has also submitted a memorandum to Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Demand for MSP law : Farmers’ organizations have once again demanded MSP to enact laws. This United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) on Monday, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) A memorandum has been submitted, demanding the legal guarantee of the minimum support price (MSP) for all crops and the exclusion of agricultural and related areas from any proposed trade agreement between Indo-US. The farmers’ organization said that this memorandum was submitted to Delhi Police during the Kisan Mahapanchayat held at Jantar Mantar. Thousands of farmers from across the country participated in this program even after heavy rains and police investigation in many places.
Demand for legal guarantee of MSP
According to SKM, the Ministry of Agriculture wrote a letter late on Sunday night that a meeting will be decided soon to discuss their pending demands with a delegation of farmers. The memorandum included three issues, mainly to make MSP guarantee laws, agriculture, dairy, poultry and fisheries out of the purview of any Indo-US trade agreement and withdrawing cases against farmers during the 2020-21 movement. Farmers cannot be left on the basis of market fluctuations. SKM leader Jagjit Singh Dallawal said that we want to explain that the demand for MSP is not limited to Punjab and Haryana, but farmers from all over the country demand it.
Farmers of many states participated
The farmers’ organization said that farmer leaders of several states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu participated in the mahapanchayat, which was organized in a peaceful manner. At the same time, police officials said that about 1200 policemen were deployed in and around the picket site to ensure law and order. All these started after a year after a year on the borders of Delhi, due to which three controversial agricultural laws were canceled. Apart from this, there is a lack of urea in the district and more urea is required in sugarcane crop. Therefore, the shortage of urea fertilizer should be completed as soon as possible.
