Amit Shah in Guwahati: Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that the BJP will fulfill its promise to make the country free from intruders. Addressing an event in Guwahati on the birth centenary of the first non-Congress CM Golap Borbora of Assam, he said that the High Shakti Development Mission announced by PM Narendra Modi on Independence Day is a decisive step towards studying the country’s demographic pattern and identifying the intruders. He said that we had promised Assam, but we could not fulfill it in 10 years. But we will fulfill our promise and free Assam and the entire country from illegal foreigners. He said that I am among those who believe that not a single intruder should live in our country. Shah told how Borbora, who led the Janata Party government in the state from March 1978 to September 1979, launched a campaign to clean the voter list on the by -election for Mangaldai Lok Sabha seat.

Himant Biswa Sarma praised

He said that even in the absence of computerized voter list, the Borbora government discovered the names of 36,780 illegal foreigners and this purification of the voter list can be considered as the original of the Assam movement. He said that the Election Commission is now SIR (SIR) The voter is purifying the list through, but some parties are opposing it. This reflects moral decline in today’s politics. Shah claimed that if Borbora was alive, he SIR (SIR) These parties opposing the process would come up. He appreciated the state government for taking action against “intruders”, especially encroachment. He also appreciated Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma and his government for honoring the staunch socialist leader Borbora, who had no relation with the BJP.

Borbora left indelible impression

Shah said that recognizing the contribution of all is the specialty of the Modi government. He said that Sardar Patel’s contribution was forgotten until Prime Minister Modi built his statue in Gujarat. There was no monument of Netaji in Delhi before the statue was installed on the duty path. He said that although Borbora’s term was short, he left an indelible mark as the first non-Congress Chief Minister of the state. He said that free education up to class 10, ‘Lagaan’ waiver for land up to 10 bighas, opening passport offices in Guwahati and establishment of Banking and Railway Recruitment Board in the state is one of the notable decisions of his government.
