OBC Reservation: To get reservation, applicants of Maratha community, who want a clan certificate, have to present papers related to their dynasty.

OBC Reservation: Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Wednesday that there will be no injustice to the Other Backward Classes (OBC). Only those holding the authentic clan records will be issued certificates according to the notification of Maratha Kota. He said that to get reservation, applicants from the Maratha community, who want a clan certificate, have to submit documents related to their dynasty, which should be already with the report of the OBC status status, Gram Panchayat and Tehsildar level committee. These caste documents will be issued only after proper verification. He stressed that sub-divisional officials should ensure that no fake (kunbi) entry is accepted. The government’s decision will be strictly implemented.

353 communities in OBC category

He said these things to reporters after presiding over the first meeting of the newly formed Cabinet Sub-Committee on OBC issues in the Ministry (State Secretariat) here. BJP Minister Bawankule said that there are 353 communities in the OBC category and are pending for distribution of welfare funds of Rs 3,688 crore, resulting in a scholarship of Rs 1,200 crore to the candidates. The Revenue Minister informed that the sub-committee also discussed the need to allocate land for the construction of hostels and government offices. Earlier this month, the state administration issued a government proposal (GR) to implement the Hyderabad Gazette. The Hyderabad Gazette is a British -era record, which will simplify the process of applying for the Kunbi caste certificate for Marathas with Kunbi heritage. After the announcement of GR, Maratha Kota worker Manoj Jarange ended his five -day -old hunger strike in Mumbai.

Kunbi a traditional farming community

It is known that Kunbi is a traditional farming community. He has been included in the OBC category list in Maharashtra to make him eligible for government reservation in jobs and education. Bawankule said that the members of the committee objected to the issuance of Kunbi-Maratha certificate on the basis of wrong documents. Bawankule said that Bhujbal criticized the earlier GR on Maratha reservation and expressed displeasure over the inadequate allocation of funds for the OBC and demanded immediate release of resources for education and hostels for the students of the community. Munde (BJP) emphasized that the Maratha was not socially backward and he made a coronation to investigate the documents before issuing the Kunbi caste Authority. Bawankule said that other ministers, including Rathore (Shiv Sena), Naik (BJP), Bharane (NCP) and Save (BJP), also expressed their views before the sub-committee constituted last week amid the Maratha reservation movement.
