PM Modi in Assam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone of health and infrastructure projects of Rs 6,300 crore in Mangaldoi in Darrang district of Assam. He inaugurated the construction of a nursing college and a GNM school along with Darrang Medical College and Hospital. Officials said that there will be a total investment of Rs 570 crore in these healthcare projects. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the 2.9 km long Nargi-Kuruva bridge and Kamrup of Assam, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,200 crore and the 118.5 km long Guwahati Ring Road project connecting the Kamarupa and Daran Zills of Meghalaya and Ri Bhoi of Meghalaya. The estimated cost of the ring road project is Rs 4,530 crore.
Bhupen Da’s birth centenary celebrations attended
The Prime Minister will later inaugurate a newly constructed bamboo -based ethanol plant at Numaligarh Refinery in Golaghat district and Petro Fluidized Catalitic Cracker unit costing Rs 7,230 crore at Numaligarh Refinery. Modi reached Assam on Saturday evening and attended the birth centenary celebrations of Bhupen Hazarika, who was awarded Bharat Ratna. On this occasion, Modi said that double engine is the government’s priority development. Said that Assam was once backward in development, but today it is on the path of progress.
