Due to decrease in GST rates before Diwali and Chhath Puja, people will get a chance to shop more, which will increase the beauty of markets even more in the festive season. At the same time, the prices of items of everyday and daily use will decrease, which will give relief to the common people.

What did the PM say in his address?

In his address to the country, PM Modi talked about GST 2.0. During this, he said that the changes in GST will not only reduce the burden on the pockets of the common people, but it will make holy festivals like Chhath and Deepawali more special. This is another step towards self -sufficient India.

What things 0 GST?

The things on which 0 GST are applied include all kinds of breads, ready to eat roti and paratha including milk, cheese, pizza. Also, 0 GST has been installed on pencils, notebooks, globes, charts, practice books, lab notebooks. 33 life saving medicines including 3 cancer medicines include individual health and life insurance policy.

5% GST slabs

At the same time, there are also many products that have been kept in 5% GST slab. They include vegetable oil, butter-ghee, sugar, sweets, pasta, biscuits, chocolate, juice, coconut water. At the same time, shampoo, hair oil, toothpaste, soap, shaving cream in personal care products. Kitchenware, children’s milk bottles, umbrellas, candles, sewing machines, napkins, handbags and furniture are also included. Agricultural equipment has tractors, agricultural machinery, sprinkler, drip irrigation, pump. Talking about health products, they have thermometer, glucometer, medical grade oxygen, glasses, rubber gloves. Readimed dresses in textile and dress, bag made of jute/cotton, synthetic thread.

18% goods coming in GST slab

At the same time, electronic products have been kept in a slab of 18 percent of GST. These include air conditioner, washing machine, LED/LCD TV, monitor, projector. Also, small cars, ambulances, 350cc motorcycles, commercial vehicles are included in 18% GST.

What happened cheap?

Things that have declined in the price are edible oil, flour, ghee, sugar, pasta, biscuits. Notebooks, pencils, educational materials have been kept. At the same time, there are soap, shampoo, toothpaste, kitchenware.
