The atmosphere became tense when many protesters gathered there in support of the “I Love Muhammad” campaign on the call of Maulana Tauqir Raza, the chief of the local cleric and Ittehad-e-Millat Council. Hundreds of people took to the streets with a poster banner written by “I Love Muhammad” in different areas of the city. During this, some mischievous elements vandalized near Khalil School. The police got sticks to control the situation. DIG Range Bareilly Ajay Kumar Sahni said that the Namaz was concluded in a peaceful manner. Some mischievous elements wanted to spoil the atmosphere, they have been chased out.

Status in normal and control

Police said a huge crowd gathered outside the Maulvi’s residence in the Kotwali area and near the mosque on Friday and people expressed their anger over postponing protests at the last minute due to non -permission by local authorities. The police lathi-charged to disperse the crowd, causing an atmosphere of chaos. In view of the situation, senior officials reached the spot to take stock of the situation. District Magistrate Avinash Singh told reporters that the situation is now normal and under control. No untoward incident is reported. We are appealing to people to maintain peace and harmony. The dispute is on September 9 when the police in Kanpur had registered an FIR against nine nominated and 15 unidentified people for putting a board on a public road in Kanpur on 4 September.

The controversy attracted wide attention after AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said in a social media post that saying “I Love Muhammad”. A heavy force was deployed along with barricading on Shyamganj Mandi road. The tourist area remained closed. By the afternoon, people started coming out of the houses. After the prayers of Jumme, people set out on the streets shouting slogans as a procession. During this time some people started a ruckus and sabotage. In the procession, the crowd moved forward shouting slogans. In view of the situation, the police also closed shops in Shyamganj. Hundreds of people gathered outside the Naumhala Mosque. People demonstrated shouting slogans. At the same time, protesters suddenly started vandalizing vehicles near Khalil School. To pacify the protesters, the police crashed sticks and stamped.
