Vodafone Idea News : Big news has come out about the telecom company Vodafone Idea. Adjustable gross revenue (AGR) The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on the petition which rejected the demand of it till 13 October. It demanded the cancellation of the demand for additional adjustable gross revenue for the period of 2016-17. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing by the Center from the bench of Chief Justice BR Gawai and Vinod Chandran of Justice, who was hearing in the case, urged that the hearing be postponed by next Monday. At the same time, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who is representing Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), supported this argument.
This is the whole matter
The Solicitor urged the bench to hear the petition before the Diwali holidays. The Chief Justice accepted the arguments. Earlier, the apex court postponed the hearing on 26 September till 6 October. VIL has filed a new petition against the new demand of Rs 5,606 crore related to FY 2016-17 by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT). Earlier, the central government had said that talks with the company are going on to resolve the matter. The law official said that the government has about 50 percent stake in Vodafone Idea, which makes it a direct stakeholder in the existence of the operator. He further said that any solution may have to be found under your permission. If it is kept for the next week, then we can think of a solution in this matter.
The arrears will be revalved
At the same time, VIL has demanded the telecom department to directly revaluate and resolve all the AGR arrears for the period of February 3, 2020 as per the deduction verification guidelines of February 20, 2020. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court refused to review the 2021 order, giving a shock to several telecom companies, including Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. The apex court also dismissed his petitions to rectify alleged mistakes in the calculation of AGR arrears. At that time, telecom companies had argued that economical mistakes should be corrected in the calculation. On the other hand, in September 2020, the Supreme Court had set a 10-year time limit for the telecom service providers struggling to pay the dues related to the AGR of Rs 93,520 crore to pay its dues.
