Shilpa Shetty: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra have received a big blow from the Bombay High Court. The court has clearly said that if both of them want to go abroad, then first they will have to deposit Rs 60 crore. Let us tell you that this is the same amount which has been charged against him in a fraud case. Actually, a complaint was filed against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra on August 14, 2025 at Juhu Police Station in Mumbai. Complainant Deepak Kothari is a businessman. He had alleged that between 2015 and 2023, Shilpa and her husband inspired him to invest in their company Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.

Deepak Kothari invested approximately Rs 60 crores. But they allege that instead of using this money for the company’s work, Shilpa and Raj used it for their personal expenses. For this reason, Deepak Kothari had filed a case of fraud and forgery against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra.
Couple’s argument in court
Last month, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra had filed a petition in the High Court demanding removal of the Lookout Circular (LOC). So that he can go abroad for professional and personal journey. His lawyer told in the court that only going to Phuket was personal, while all the other trips were related to business. Apart from this, the lawyer also clarified that the couple is fully supporting the investigation. Both have already participated in the interrogation of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW).

The bench of Chief Justice Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankar said that when there are such serious financial allegations against the accused, then we cannot give permission for personal journey. First deposit the full amount, then we will consider the petition. The court also clarified that both of them have not been arrested yet because of their support in the investigation. The court asked both of them to also show invitations or official documents of professional events.

The court has adjourned the case till October 14. Said that only if Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra deposit Rs 60 crore, their petition will be considered. According to the information, Shilpa told the police that she was not completely involved in the operation of the company. Raj Kundra used to take all the decisions related to business. At present, there is a ban on foreign travel of both of them. Now his eyes are fixed on the hearing on October 14.
