Fake Encounter: A shocking case of fake encounter has come to light in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. Police arrested two youths after the robbery attempt. During the encounter, both the youth were shot in the legs. The families of the injured youth raised questions on the encounter. When the DM conducted an investigation on the complaint of the family members, the encounter was found to be fake. As soon as this matter came to light, there was a stir in the administration. The administration hurriedly released both the youths from jail. After this, SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha suspended two police officers including an SHO. The incident took place on October 9, when police arrested two youths named Omveer and Suryadev after an encounter on charges of attempted robbery at a businessman’s house in Mursan police station area. It was also revealed that a young man was shot in the leg during the encounter.

Both the youths are residents of Aligarh.

However, the family members termed the encounter as fake and demanded a fair investigation. This incident has raised serious questions on the functioning of the police. Now a magistrate inquiry is being conducted into this matter. Following the complaint, police claimed to have arrested two people following an encounter during which one of them was shot in the leg. Police said both the accused have been identified as Omveer alias Sonu and Deva alias Suryadev Singh, residents of Barakala village in Iglas area of ​​Aligarh. However, the families of both the accused alleged that the encounter was fake. The family members demanded a fair investigation and strict action against those responsible. Later the family members also met the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police (SP) regarding their demand. Officials said that on the basis of preliminary investigation, SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha suspended the then SHO Mamta Singh and Inspector Mukesh Kumar, in-charge of the anti-theft team.

SDM and CO are investigating

The SP has handed over the investigation of the case to the SDM and Circle Officer (CO). Police had earlier claimed that two country-made pistols, three cartridges and a motorcycle had been recovered from the arrested youth. However, police said that after a detailed investigation, investigators did not find any concrete evidence against the two. The final report of the case was presented in the court, after which both the youth were released from jail on Friday. CO City said that the youth were released on the basis of shortcomings found during the investigation. The SP said that no concrete evidence was found against the youth in the cases registered by both the businessman and the police. On this basis, a final report was filed and the accused were released.
