Diwali Muhurat Trading: Muhurta trading on Diwali is considered one of the most auspicious rituals of the Indian stock market. Every year investors consider this one hour as an opportunity not only for trading but also for worshiping Lakshmi. However, this year there is something new, because for the first time in many years, NSE and BSE have changed the timing of Muhurat trading. This time trading will be from 1:45 to 2:45 pm (October 21, 2025). This will signal the beginning of the new financial year Samvat 2082. Earlier this session used to be held in the evening, but this time the exchanges have decided to organize it during the day due to operational efficiency.

Main Trading Window- 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM
Closing Session- 2:55 PM to 3:05 PM
During this period normal market trading will remain closed. This means that this one hour will be reserved for the most auspicious investment of the year. At the same time, according to market analysts, currently Nifty50 is showing signs of moving towards the level of 25 thousand 900. In the last 10 years, 80% of the times Nifty has closed in the green on Muhurta trading days. Apart from this, midcap and smallcap stocks have performed even better. Positive returns have been received in almost 90% of these occasions. Experts say that PSU banks and metal sector can shine this time also. PSU banks are likely to gain up to 9% by next week, while metal stocks may go up by 8%. However, investors should be cautious in realty and pharma sectors, as these sectors have often been weak in post-Muhurat trading.

These include names of stocks like Kotak Securities, Adani Ports, ICICI Bank, M&M, Reliance Industries, LKP Securities, Bajaj Finance, SBI, Divi’s Lab, Nykaa, Apollo Tyres, Canara Bank, Sandur Manganese, Premier Explosives. Overall, there is a lot of positivity regarding the stock market in Samvat 2082. Valuations are attractive, corporate earnings are improving and domestic investors still have confidence in the market.
