JNS Business Center Fire: A fire broke out in a 13-storey commercial building in Jogeshwari West area of Mumbai on Thursday, causing panic. Immediately after this, the fire department was informed and during this time the people working there got trapped. It is being told that 17 people suffocated due to the fire. A Municipal Corporation official said that people had reported cases of suffocation and about 9 of them were undergoing treatment at HBT Hospital. Eight others were discharged from hospital against medical advice, he said. Let us tell you that at around 10:30 in the morning, dense black smoke spread in front of the glass of the building in JNS Business Center near Gandhi School.

The official said that after the fire, smoke spread everywhere and now rescue teams are trying to extinguish it. The flames spread from the 9th to the 13th floors of the glass-fronted building. Meanwhile, the fire spread to the electrical pipe on the 13th floor. A fire official said that at least 12 fire engines and other fire fighting equipment have been deployed at the spot. He said that fire personnel rescued a total of 27 people, including two women, from different floors using ladders and hydraulic platform stairs. Officials said the flames were limited to electrical wires, doors, windows, AC ducts and furniture. The official further said that offices from 11th to 13th floors were filled with smoke and fire brigade personnel broke the glass facade for ventilation.
